LEFTY’s High Holiday Food Drive is organized every year by the LEFTY Social Action Vice President. People attending Rosh Hashanah Services take home a paper grocery bag and return it filled with food to be donated on Yom Kippur. Before Yom Kippur services, LEFTYites collect and sort the cans in a truck in the Temple parking lot. The food is then donated to many different organizations in the greater Boston area. Historically, LEFTY has collected over 5000 pounds of food annually.
